Camp Carlton
Camp Carlton is to be a model of a campsite that we can use both on and off season to help learn about camp life and how to organise the site. There would be:-
- a Camp fire
- log store
- Tents
- a food tent
- a cooking area
- access roads
- a stream
- waste area
- toilet area
- any thing else the scouts might think is useful
The idea is to make a landscape from chicken wire and paper mache that is mounted on a wooden base. Once the paper mache has dried we will spread some more wall paper paste and then cover the ‘grass’ area’s with green powder, the roads with black and any water would be blue.
Once we have the landscape built, we will then make all the other items and we can then use them to ‘arrive’ at site and ‘get setup’. The plan is for the scouts to make some things in our sessions and/or they can make them at home and bring them in. we expect this activity will take a few sessions and we are hopeing ‘Camp Carlton’ could be used by the beavers and cubs to learn about camps as they don’t go on quite so many camps as the scouts.
More details to follow….
Sounds great fun Scouts get stuck in.
