Bear Grylls has declared an end to boredom this summer with the launch of a summer manifesto for all young people in the UK. The Chief Scout will be spreading the word on his Kids’ Summer Manifesto with a helicopter mission this Sunday.
The manifesto coincides with the start of the school holidays and to celebrate all things adventure, Bear will embark on a whirlwind helicopter tour of Scout summer camps, meeting thousands of Scouts.

  Carlton leaders spent their first Thursday night “off”, back at ‘school’ with a training night at our HQ, sharing knowledge about the excellent Online Scout Manager tool and how we can use it effectively to enhance the Scouting Adventure!

Due to a communications mix up (after an incomplete invitation to get involved a month ago) we were contacted at very short notice to provide support to the Morley Brass Band Festival.
Our two newest members stepped up to the challenge and joined Corrinne, Nighthawk, Raksha and Chil to meet the first band at 1.30pm by the Ernie Wise statue at the top of Queen Street in Morley town centre.

We have been awarded a fantastic £1000 to buy more camping equipment to support our hammock camping, extending the months we can use these by making them toasty warm through under-blankets and inflatable mats. The money will also let us replace and upgrade camp cooking equipment to keep those all essential cooked breakfasts and coffees coming.
We hope all our young people and some of our adult helpers and parents will be able to take advantage of using these over the following year and into the future.
