Trading Post Practice
Tonight at Cubs we did a Trading Post practice session as a taster to try and have one last push at getting Cubs interested in taking part in the District Trading Post competition tomorrow, Friday 20th.
We setup some cool activities for the Cubs to try – AFTER they were able to recite their Promise and Law that is. This forms the basis of the Trading Post – essentially, how well have they learned some stuff during their time in Scouts.
Then we had various bases for the Cubs to try and earn points 🙂 A huge thanks to the parents that stayed for the evening and helped run some bases!
- Sugar cube tower
- knots
- map reading
- identifying map symbols
- hula-hooping
- balls-in-the-bucket
- shoe-lace tying
- picking ping-pong balls up by sucking through a straw and dropping them into a tub (no hands!)
- sewing
- paper aeroplanes – this may have been the favourite activity…!
Awards: Imogen S was awarded her Hobbies Badge – well done Imogen.
