Attempting to communicate again
This week at Cubs, we were attempting to communicate again. Last week we started the Communicator Activity Badge and hoped to finish the remaining requirements this week. However the lure of the sudden flurry of snow we had had proved too much for the Cubs and they just wanted to have a big snowball fight!
Interestingly few Cubs had arrived in cold / snow weather gear so they weren’t prepared and got quite cold and wet in the process. Hopefully a learning lesson for some of them…
Once back inside and warming up we managed to get a couple more requirements done for this badge.
The Cubs produced their own coded message after learning how to decipher a message last week.
The Cubs were also able to learn how to send and receive emails. I setup two laptops one at each end of the hall and a couple of temporary email addresses in @carltonscouts.org.uk. The group on one laptop had to ask the other team on the other laptop for their email address and then send a message. They also responded to an email I’d sent them.
So now there are just one or two more requirements left for this badge and then hopefully it can be awareded!
Awards: Amelia N was presented her Staged Activity IT 1 Badge and her Collectors badge – well done Amelia.
