The Water Aid charity the Cubs learned about whilst half the Pack was visiting the West Yorkshire Police in Wakefield and we did a couple of evenings and some fundraising to TWIN our Toilet at Church 🙂 We’ve recorded requirements (2) and (5) of the Global Challenge badge aginst the Cubs that were present on these evenings for this.

Hi All,
Just a quick reminder that we do not meet in school holidays … so there is no meeting during half-term holidays next week (30th Oct)
That does mean we need to give advance warning of two forthcoming parades:

Church Parade is the first Sunday of every month (except August). The next one is therefore 2nd November – 9:15am at Christ Church, Lofthouse.
I hope to see lots of you there – smart uniform , ready to carry flags and be proud to be Scouts!
I also have some Readings to give out. If …

Tonight at Cubs we had a Pack Forum – after which the Cubs took on the Scouts at Dodgeball!
The Pack Forum is where the Cubs, in their Sixes talk about what they’d like to do in Cubs, what they’d like to do more of or, indeed, what they’d like to do less of 🙂
We put out four tables and a large sheet of paper and had the Cubs brainstorm ideas.

We also wanted them to think about maybe a rewards system which we, as Leaders, can use to encourage good behaviour …

Towards part of his Global Challenge badge, Elliot talked to the Packl about how a car engine works using this brilliant working toy model as a prop

Joe then was quizzed by “Oo” on his …

Tonight at Cubs, because I was away at a school Open Evening, Sara “Oo” opened and oversaw the evenings activity – with support from the rest of the Adult and Young Leaders. When I got to the meeting at about 8pm, I found the cubs well engrossed in their Unihoc practice, followed by some other active games – they seemed to be having lots of FUN as the photos below show 🙂
“Oo” also got this video of the action… WARNING – it’s NOISY with the Cubs cheering each other on! 🙂

Thanks very much …
