Show and Tell Night

10 July 2014

(This blog post brought to you by Akela)

What a great night you missed Ziggy!

To start the session we continued with our Tour de France Cyclist theme and worked through the Halfords puzzle books in groups of eight, helping each other as a team to do our best. The booklets were then available to take home to complete.

We then moved on in these groups to present our show and tell allowing everyone who had brought something down to have a go.

Daniel N (see photo below) is working towards his musician stage 2 award having recently passed his grade 1 exam and performed two pieces on his clarinet for his group as well as been quizzed by the leaders and the other cubs. Great effort Daniel and very entertaining. Just a little section to finish off and you will have gained this award 🙂

Ewan S (photo below) presented his Lego modelling towards his Creative Challenge badge the cubs were intrigued to see what he had designed and built. This completes one section of the award and gains Ewan a star on the progress chart in the upper hall. Well done 🙂

Louis M (see below) brought down his bike helmet and discussed his hobby in his group – explaining how danger is avoided and all the safety precautions he needs to take. We were most impressed to see him demonstrate his safety gear – well done and keep it up 🙂

371801292405265_Toilet_Twinning_logo_256_x_127Toilet Twinning boxes were handed in from a further group of cubs, thank you. £18.79 was then added to our previous total making a grand total of £49.03 + £18.79 = £67.82!

We now have enough to twin the church toilet with another loo somewhere else in the world where they currently have poor sanitation. A great big thank you to all the cubs who have worked towards doing this and having fun on the way with toilet roll bowling and discussions around Poo. We drew a name out of the chocolate tin from all those who took part and Ben S won the T- Shirt kindly donated by the charity we have been fund raising for.

The last of the Police certificates were handed out to those cubs who attended the last session at Carr gate headquarters
