Photos and Experiences of the Star Wars Camp

8 May 2014

This Thursday evening at Cubs, whilst Akela went on the first visit to the West Yorkshire Police CarrGate HQ with the Scout Section, Ziggy was in charge!

To start with the Cubs played a game – the Human Knot. One of the Cubs, Joe R, wanted to teach / run this game which goes towards his Promise Challenge Badge 🙂

We tried two versions of this game – the first were the Cubs randomly put themselves into a knot without Joe looking and then he had to try and untie them.

This was very tricky and ultimately, for safety reasons I had to step in and stop the game before a Cub got hurt! However we then tried the second version of the game whereby all the Cubs stood in a circle

and then had to walk into the middle of the circle – all together – and hold hands with two other cubs – that were NOT on their immediate left or right. They they had to try and undo themsleves and get back into a circle – without letting go! This too proved quite a tricky task – but good fun! 🙂

The main theme of the evening was talking about the Cubs’s experiences from the District Star Wars Camp the previous weekend. To this end I setup a projector and did a slide show of photos that Leaders and Adults had taken from the weekend. Have a look at the Star Wars Camp blog entry written by our very own Sara “Oo” ACSL and the links to photos at the bottom 🙂

The Cubs talking about how they got on at the Star Wars Camp was part of them working towards their Outdoor Challenge badge.
