Everyone’s an artist
At Cubs this Thursday, we did an Art Project, as part of the requirements for the Cubs earning their Artist Badge!
Using an idea by Chris from the 8th Mirfield Scout Group (in neighbouring Wakefield) (- thanks!), I prepared the two images below at the beginning of the evening:
As per Chris’s instructions, I printed out each image and then, using a guillotine I cut them up into 16 equal pieces, numbered them (in the hope that it would help to put them back together again in the end) and then laminated each piece (potentially for future use!).
The Cub’s instructions were then to take a section (there was enough to do more than one) and copy it onto a single piece of A4 – thus enlarging it in the process… the idea being that we then end up with a 16x enlarged copy of the original image.]
Here’s some photos from the evening…
and the almost finished end result – not a bad first attempt… seems we certainly have some budding artists in the group! 🙂
Seperately to this evening, Louis M had also done this amazing piece of artwork in the holidays, I believe – a stunning picture of a leaping stallion on canvas he said he’d created straight out of his imagination – i.e. without copying from another image. Fantastic work Louis – you should be really proud of that!
Awards: Louis G completed his Chef Badge before the meeting by preparing his parents a lovely curry followed by a fruit salad dessert! Dan N and James D were presented with their Creative Challenge badges (they just hadn’t been here when the rest were presented the previous week). Well done all!
Akela also invested two Cubs – A brand new member of the Pack, Oliver D and Ben S who’s recently moved up from Beavers – welcome to you both and really glad you are part of the Pack and the Best Group in the District!
Great night again cubs
Thanks for all the effort the leaders put in to make the evenings so enjoyable along with the cubs doing their best to achieve whilst having fun
